SWORD OF WORDS

Mr O,  as fondly called by friends and neighbor was a hardworking and zealous man. At age 40 he retired from active service and started overseeing his company. He was a Christian and a good one at that. He was loved by many due to his warming and welcoming character. I remember a time he opened his home to strangers who had come from a very far place and had nowhere to lay their head. I was astonished at his behavior because none of us in the community knew this people from anywhere. Well,  this was just how he was.

After his 50th birthday, Mr O took ill, it began with a mild fever that he waved aside as a little sickness, it escalated to stroke and before we knew it, Mr O was completely paralyzed. Wow, what a drastic and sad change. Mr O was taken from one hospital to another,  but without any positive change. His family members opted for prayer houses as according to them, his situation has exceeded hospitals

Pastors trooped in and out of Mr O's house, everybody prayed for him, we raised his problem to God in our churches and homes and it looked like God had turned his back on Mr O.

I was getting frustrated with this situation, don't ask me what my business is because if you lived in a small community like I did, you'll understand that One's problem is the problem of the whole community.
In my naive state , I wanted to know what exactly Mr O must have done to deserve this kind of punishment from God and people in the community had began to say
almost  to themselves that Mr O has committed an unpardonable sin. Well, what better way to find out than from the horse's mouth.

I took a stroll to Mr O's house after my chores one afternoon and asked to see him. Oh my days, Mr O has become a shadow of himself, he wasn't the Mr O I had known, his once smiling face has been replaced with lines of worry. He had aged suddenly. I was in tears.

As I sat close to Mr O's bed, A pastor came in to pray for him, after he was done, he left immediately. Not too long after the Pastor left, I heard Mr O say under his breath "I'm going to die paralyzed", "I can't get healed of this sickness". Immediately I heard this, I knew immediately the reason for his delayed healing.
I ran out of Mr O's house, after this revelation to strategize on how to teach Mr O on the power of his tongue

This is 100% fiction

How many times have you used your mouth to talk yourself down?
How many times have you countered the word of God concerning you with the words of your mouth?
How many times have you been guilty of negative confession?

And what is God’s “living message”? It is the revelation of faith for salvation, which is the message that we preach. For if you PUBLICLY DECLARE with your MOUTH that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will experience SALVATION. The heart that believes in him receives the gift of the righteousness of God—and then the MOUTH CONFESSES, resulting in SALVATION.
Romans 10:9‭-‬10 TPT.
from that scripture, we learn that salvation doesn't just center by mere wishing, it comes with talking and confessing.  I can also say to you, you don't become anything by thinking, you have to say it.

Our words are powerful, so powerful, you can speak life to yourself with your tongue or kill yourself with it.
Not forgetting all things were made through Words, the Word of God.

The Bible explains to us about putting on the whole armor of God, we have the sword of the spirit which is the word of God.
(Ephesians 6:17)

So when next you are tempted to speak evil,  tell yourself you'll use your tongues to speak life only.
Here is my own dose of confession

I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus
I am Creative
I will be what God said I'll be.
I am sitted in heavenly places, far above principalities and powers.
I can do anything I choose to do because I have the life of Christ and there is no impossibility in Christ.
