Ephesians 2
Welcome!!!
I really hope Yesterday's episode blessed you?
We move again πππ
And his fullness fills you , even though you were once like corpses, dead in your sins and offenses.
Ephesians 2:1
Okay, at this point you really have to pause and re-read that. While you were in your sins, dead, he saw beyond that, he saw what you could become; one filled with his fullness, and so he filled you.
It wasn’t that long ago that you lived in the religion, customs, and values of this world, obeying the dark ruler of the earthly realm who fills the atmosphere with his authority, and works diligently in the hearts of those who are disobedient to the truth of God. The corruption that was in us from birth was expressed through the deeds and desires of our self-life. We lived by whatever natural cravings and thoughts our minds dictated, living as rebellious children subject to God’s wrath like everyone else.
Ephesians 2:2-3
At some points of our lives, we all lived according to the dictate of the flesh, we all played the game of religion, turning spiritual things to the work of hands. We valued the lifestyle of the world above God's pattern of living, we willfully or sometimes ignorantly walked in disobedience. Our desires and deeds were natural cravings and our mind dictated. We lived as rebellious children, and the predictable end was death (God's wrath).
But God still loved us with such great love. He is so rich in compassion and mercy. Even when we were dead and doomed in our many sins, he united us into the very life of Christ and saved us by his wonderful grace!
Ephesians 2:4-5
But that was not the end of our lives, it was a beginning. While we were so " me centered" caring about only and only ourselves, God was "You centered" too, Pursuing us with love daily, never left us alone. He still loved us with so great love, an unquenchable love. He didn't just love us, he was rich in compassion and mercy. Who would have thought that we would be recipient of love but no, he loved us. He didn't leave us bare, he united us into the very life of Christ "The everlasting life" and saved us by his wonderful grace. The love so surreal, wasn't by our works, it's an undeserving yet never ending love. (If this isn't a good time to shout hallelujah, then I don't know when it's).
He raised us up with Christ the exalted One, and we ascended with him into the glorious perfection and authority of the heavenly realm, for we are now co-seated as one with Christ! Throughout the coming ages we will be the visible display of the infinite, limitless riches of his grace and kindness, which was showered upon us in Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:6-7
I need to be sincere at this point, while I read those verses of the scriptureπ, my heart was drumming fiercely. Jesus loved us, he loves us and he will continually love us, that sounds like like music to my ears, not only did he love us, he raised us up with Christ even while we were yet dead in sin (Niv translation), I dare to say God wasn't Shortsighted, he saw what we would become and made it our reality even before conception. He didn't just raise us up with Christ, he made us ascend with Christ (Resurrect) into glorious perfection and authority of the heavenly realm. ( My God!!). When next you think to yourself how you're not perfect and you want to encumber yourself with matters that are not yours, remind yourself that before you knew how to think those thoughts, God already thought it on your behalf and made you adventures into a glorious perfection (It's not about you, it's about Christ in whom we are made perfect) and relax, you've ascended into authority of the heavenly realm. (At this point, you may just need to pray in the spirit). I don't know what this means to you, but to me, this means that I'm far above principalities and powers ( They can't even touch me).
I'm with Christ in heavenly places (Those powers will have to touch God the Father, then proceed to God the Son, conquer God the Spirit and when they are done fighting with the Trinity, they have full licence to touch me) But we all know how impossible that is, and with joy in my heart, I announce to you that the position you're sitting is far above the condemnation you face, that fear keeping you from shining and that struggle you have been tied down with, it only requires you to arise with the Consciousness that "I'm in Christ and with Christ" and you face that demon full fledged and let's see if it'll not bow it knees in obedience to Christ.
Throughout the coming ages we will be the visible display of the infinite, limitless riches of his grace and kindness, which was showered upon us in Jesus Christ. For it was only through this wonderful grace that we believed in him. Nothing we did could ever earn this salvation, for it was the gracious gift from God that brought us to Christ!
Ephesians 2:7-8
I'm just going to write this in "first person singular". I cannot but put a name tag to this blessing. So here it is. Throughout the coming ages, I oluwatolope, will be the visible/ Seeable display of the infinite, limitless riches of God's grace and kindness, which was showered upon me in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!!! I believe you personalized that too.
Grace Grace, God's Grace!!! It's only through the grace of God that I believed in him. "NOTHING" I ever did and ever will do could earn salvation, I didn't do nothing to contribute to salvation, I didn't do nothing to deserve it, it's not by my works, no works, no labour could have made me a recipient of salvation. It's Grace immeasurable and undeserving. God's precious gift to us what to bring us to Christ, knowing that it's through Christ we are who we are supposed to be and more. Not on our own could we figure how to live.
So no one will ever be able to boast, for salvation is never a reward for good works or human striving.
Ephesians 2:9
It's by works of righteousness that we are saved, it's by the grace of God and for this no man will ever be able to boast that he merited salvation. Salvation isn't a rewards for good works or human striving. It's by Grace!!!
We have become his poetry, a re-created people that will fulfill the destiny he has given each of us, for we are joined to Jesus, the Anointed One. Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it !
Ephesians 2:10
Not only did God chase me down with love, not only did he keep me in heavenly realm with Christ, he has made me his poetry, I'm a poem to God sang and recited (This gives me unspeakable joy). I'm re-created by God to fulfill a destiny that he has given to me. He didn't just re-create me to fulfill any destiny of purpose, but he handed down to me a purpose and destiny with my name on it. And he's showers on me all the good works and grace (Like spicy) to accomplish the given destiny.. At this point with all sincerity, can we say "Lord thank you!!".
This our Lord God is so thoughtful and mindful of us, before we were conceived, he already had a destiny for us and with the destiny comes the grace to fulfill it. It's a total package. It's a buy one, get all free kind of situation. (He still gave us the money to buy the one; his blood).
So don’t forget that you were not born as Jews and were uncircumcised (circumcision itself is just a work of man’s hands); you had none of the Jewish covenants and laws; you were foreigners to Israel’s incredible heritage; you were without the covenants and prophetic promises of the Messiah, the promised hope, and without God. Yet look at you now! Everything is new! Although you were once distant and far away from God, now you have been brought delightfully close to him through the sacred blood of Jesus—you have actually been united to Christ!
Ephesians 2:11-13
Let's not forget from where we came, foreigners to grace and without prophetic promises of the messiah. We were imprisoned to sin and without God, but all of a sudden, everything became new, we who couldn't approach God due to fear and condemnation .we who were distant and far away from God can now boldly come with confidence and courage because of the precious, yet sacred blood of Jesus. In all, you've been united to Christ ( I'll love you to boldly say "I have been united to Christ).
Through this blood, we dare to call him Father and we dare to reciprocate his love. Oh how precious is the blood!!!
Our reconciling “Peace” is Jesus! He has made Jew and non-Jew one in Christ . By dying as our sacrifice , he has broken down every wall of prejudice that separated us and has now made us equal through our union with Christ . Ethnic hatred has been dissolved by the crucifixion of his precious body on the cross. The legal code that stood condemning every one of us has now been repealed by his command . His triune essence has made peace between us by starting over—forming one new race of humanity, Jews and non-Jews fused together!
Ephesians 2:14-15
Jesus became our reconciling Peace, the middle man between God and man. His death on the cross has broken down every wall of hostility that separated us and through the blood we have equal access to Christ.
He has put an end to the laws, its commands and regulation. The purpose of his death was to make peace , creating a new race of humanity. We became one body, the body of Christ.
Two have now become one, and we live restored to God and reconciled in the body of Christ. Through his crucifixion, hatred died. For the Messiah has come to preach this sweet message of peace to you, the ones who were distant, and to those who are near. And now, because we are united to Christ, we both have equal and direct access in the realm of the Holy Spirit to come before the Father!
Ephesians 2:16-18
He broke the wall of separation which existed between the jews and non- Jews. We all became restored to God through the reconciliation of Christ. Through this blood, all forms of hatred died and we became one.
And now that we have been united to him, we all have equal and direct access in the realm of the Holy Spirit to come before the Father. We don't need an high priest no more, he became our high priest tearing down the veil and granting us access to the Father through the Holy Spirit.
So, you are not foreigners or guests, but rather you are the children of the city of the holy ones, with all the rights as family members of the household of God. You are rising like the perfectly fitted stones of the temple ; and your lives are being built up together upon the ideal foundation laid by the apostles and prophets, and best of all, you are connected to the Head Cornerstone of the building, the Anointed One, Jesus Christ himself!
Ephesians 2:19-20
We are not foreigners, we are not strangers neither are we visitors, we are children, legitimate children of the city of the Holy ones, and we have rights as family members of God's household. We are not Bastards, but legitimate sons and daughters. The kingdom of God is now our home country. Hallelujah!!!
God's building a home, he is using all of us, irrespective of how you got here (How you became saved). He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation and now, he's using us. We are rising like the perfectly fitted stones of the temple, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together.
This entire building is under construction and is continually growing under his supervision until it rises up completed as the holy temple of the Lord himself.
Ephesians 2:21
We are rising as the temple of God, we are under construction continually growing under his watch. We are taking shape day after day as a holy temple built by God.
This means that God is transforming each one of you into the Holy of Holies , his dwelling place, through the power of the Holy Spirit living in you!
Ephesians 2:22
In conclusion, God's transforming each and everyone of us into the Holy of Holies, a temple he's comfortable to dwell, and he's doing all these workings through the Holy Spirit dwelling in our inside.
Please don't push against it, the workings has to be done till we are suitable to be called his Holy of Holies. It's a transformative work and it's bringing out the best, burning out the dross.
Glory to God!!! This chapter has been mind renewing and transformative.
I trust that you're blessed.
